Originally a New Yorker, he survived the blast of 2015, converted to Islam and leveraged his survivor status to launch his political career out west. Mayor Akmar-Mohammad is a self proclaimed Fundamentalist who gained notoriety persecuting the Bay Area's homosexual population. While he believes in strict interpretation of Islamic law, his policies tend to be somewhat moderate. That's a sign of his political acumen; it's advantageous for him to work within the views of more moderate Muslims.

Damon Kingsley was not far behind, only 5.5% behind the lead in the popular vote.Mayor Akmar-Mohammad won the most electorial votes, 257, with victories in 22 states including key states Illinois, Colorado and Oregon. Mr. Maxon won the second most electorial votes, 115. Kingsley managed 32 electorial votes.
